Wes recently retired from The Trustees of Reservations, where he was land conservation director for nearly 30 years. He has been working with land trusts and land owners on conservation plans and specific transactions. In 2015 Wes and a colleague developed and taught a course at Brandeis University in the theory, history, and practice of land conservation. He co-founded the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition and served as one of the original board members of the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
Wes has edited several versions of Land Conservation Options: A Guide for Massachusetts Landowners. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, in addition to a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts. He is an avid reader of environmental history.
In March, 2016, Wes relocated to Portland, Oregon from Cambridge, Massachusetts.
